Course Level 1 - Managing People
MODULE 1 - LEADERSHIP
Various leadership styles and how to recognise your preferred style. Subjects such as influencing factors are discussed along with leadership exercises, which help delegates improve their leadership effectiveness.
MODULE 2 - DELEGATION & EMPOWERMENT
What is effective delegation? Symptoms of under-delegating, employee obstacles, giving feedback are just some of the topics discussed along with proven empowerment exercises.
MODULE 3 - PERFORMANCE MOTIVATION
Understanding how people become motivated with theoretical and practical applications are explored in this module. The module includes a motivation quiz which helps delegates prevent potential problems when motivating others.
MODULE 4 - COMMUNICATIONS
The communication process, talking, listening, non-verbal communications, briefing groups and various exercises to challenge delegates’ assumptions are applied in this module. The module could include Effective Writing and getting the message across in a style relevant to the organisation and products or services.
MODULE 5 - TEAM WORKING
This module explores the concept of Effective Teams, Team Development, Roles and Responsibilities. A team-working questionnaire is used to demonstrate team dynamics along with exercises to explore team member interactions.
MODULE 6 - PROBLEM SOLVING
Logical and creative problem solving tools and techniques are demonstrated in this valuable module. Delegates are shown how to resolve various problems and a case study is used.
MODULE 7 - CONSTRUCTIVE CONFLICT
With the work environment under pressure, conflict is unavoidable. This module examines patterns of behaviour allowing delegates to manage conflict effectively and reach consensus.
MODULE 8 - ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOURS
Here, delegates are taught to understand the differences and relationships between values, beliefs, attitudes and behaviours at work.
MODULE 9 - MANAGING CHANGE
Change affects us all. Here delegates are shown how to organise change, cope with personal change and includes a change management questionnaire to reinforce learning.
MODULE 10 - MEETINGS
The meeting event can be more effective if this module is attended by managers who are responsible for managing meetings. Chairmanship, minutes, agendas, action points etc. are points covered.
MODULE 11 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT
This module covers topics such as preparation and planning, utilising resources, performance measurement & case study exercises to make sure that delegates can really get results from projects.
MODULE 12 - TIME MANAGEMENT
Time is a manager’s finite resource. Methods to enable delegates to manage time more efficiently are learnt in this module.
